"...memory is like a lumber-room: thing wanted always buried." - Gandalf, writing of Barliman Butterbur in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Fellowship of the Ring

I'm feeling metrics-minded as the next migraine settles in. Let's see...

And vis-a-vis that...
  • The October burst of writing was due to the right weather (for the story) and me pushing beyond pain to attempt poems.
  • On 11 Nov, I started the anti-inflammatory, low carbohydrate diet.
  • On 25 Nov, I started taking turmeric twice a day.
  • On 09 Dec, I attended a blót which set the 'migraine is my bridle' synchronicities running.
  • On 22 Dec, I lowered my magnesium intake.
  • On 24 Dec, I started thinking about going deeper into migraineheim, trying to live with, rather than against, the symptoms.
  • By 26 Dec, I had done just that and thence commenced the great writing spree of Yule.
Migraine symptoms have continued, off and on, since 22 Dec and 26 Dec, but where I've been in the past 2 weeks has been livable. I can write, I've known what-happens-next, I've enjoyed life to the fullest, and dipping into migraine has just meant rolling with the waves (not to mention being an excuse to play Mass Effect for the umpteenth time and/or re-watch the Lord of the RIngs).

ETA: Note to self - started taking Vitamin D3 (1000 IU), once per day, today, per primary physician's orders after results from lab work.

Life is good.

I can't possibly tease apart the causality in the past month -- from better health to new writing (and more and more of it) -- but life is good. I could do with this continuing.
